{Halifax, Canada} – WINK Streaming is announcing the release of its WINK Media Router 2.0 Firmware, the ultimate combination of live media management, user controls, authentication, and statistical analysis. The WINK Media Router 2.0 Firmware is available now at www.winkstreaming.com as a free upgrade to all licensed users of the original release and virtual machine instances.

The technology features the latest industry-standard protocols, including: HLS, MPD, RTMP, RTSP, and various low latency options, as well as the latest in authentication solutions, including Authentication Groups, OTP and oAuth for live streams.

David Brown, WINK Streaming’s Director of Sales and Marketing, says the WINK Media Router 2.0 Firmware packs all the essential capabilities of the original WINK Media Router into a new feature-rich edition – all at a more affordable price. “Release 2.0 offers the largest, most advanced authentication system,” he says, “which allows customers to easily see and manage access control, scheduling, and user grouping.”

WINK Media Router 2.0 Firmware features the same simplified web management interface, but now with enhanced ability to manage multiple streams, WINK Forges publishers, and 3rd party publishers.

This newest release provides users with the ability to take advantage of powerful new features, including Live Stats, which allows users to, at a glance, understand the number of concurrent viewers and regions, and visualize a comprehensive breakdown of bandwidth and network usage.

Additionally, the built-in real-time camera status page allows users to see a high-level overview of the WINK Forge’s operation status. Users can add custom filters and sorting mechanisms to analyze their live streams further. “Whether working with a WINK Forge, live transcoder or a generic media publishing device, the WINK Media Router Firmware 2.0 will allow for a detailed, in-depth review,” Brown says.

Darren McLean, WINK Streaming’s Head of Media Router Development. “We’re excited to offer another great option to help customers more easily manage their entire live content delivery.”

Pricing for WINK Media Routers starts at $6,500 USD, and firmware upgrades are available free to all licensed editions of WINK Media Router Firmware 1.0. The WINK Media Router can be configured as a hardware appliance or run as a virtual machine. Users can get their upgrades through the automated update system, or manually through the customer access portal. Users with expired licenses can upgrade through their sales representative or via the customer access portal.
